Chang v Alstom Federal Court
Plaintiff was injured by conveyor belt while working at UPS. Product liability suit filed against manufacturer of package conveyor belt system which caught Plaintiff ’s leg causing a de-gloving injury. Jury verdict of $3,653,000.

Rivas v Commodore Aviation, Inc.

Office building security guard was assaulted by intruders which gained access to building through a scaffold which was left unprotected and unguarded by a contractor. Case settled for $325,000.

Employee fell off ladder during work and suffered brain damage. Claim filed against employer and workers compensation carrier when ladder was lost after accident. Bifurcated trial on liability only. Verdict for Plaintiff. Case settled before trial on damages. Confidential settlement.

Rivera v Sunbelt et al.
Construction worker fell at job site when scaffolding collapsed. Scaffolding was lost, defective product claim, as well as spoliation claim was filed. Worker suffered shoulder injury, but was able to go back to work. Case settled for $175,000.

Worker sustained an injury to arm when caught in box making press. Went to ER and was misdiagnosed with sprain. Patient had a compartment syndrome which needed immediate surgery.
