For the fourth consecutive year, in 2009, Peter Walsh was named one of the top 5 percent of Florida lawyers by Florida Superlawyers Magazine.  Peter is also board certified by the Florida Bar as an “expert” civil trial lawyer, a distinction held by a small percentage of Florida trial lawyers.  And the Martindale-Hubbell attorney rating service has consistently assigned Peter its highest possible rating of “AV.”

Peter Walsh graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1992.  He also holds a master’s degree from Carleton University, and a bachelor’s degree from Providence College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1981.

Peter was recruited out of law school by The Honorable Janet Reno, who at that time was Dade County’s State Attorney.  He served as a state prosecutor in Miami from 1992-96, and was hand-picked to serve as a law instructor at the Miami-Dade Police Academy.  And he was also selected for the State Attorney’s career criminal special prosecution unit.

Peter now focuses his law practice on the representation of injured people and on the representation of individuals in disputes with insurance companies.  Peter also represents people in criminal matters.

Before representing individuals, for several years Peter worked on the other side of the fence representing insurance companies.  This experience gave him an invaluable look “behind the curtain,” and gives him a unique perspective on how insurance companies handle claims.

Peter Walsh is routinely invited to serve as a speaker at trial advocacy seminars, including the annual Absolute Litigators Conference in Las Vegas and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association annual conference in New Orleans, as well as at various legal education seminars around south Florida.
